In two weeks one of the most famed names in motorsport will return with the unveiling of a 'blistering' supercar designed to dominate race tracks.
In early 2018 David Brabham, son of three-time Formula 1 World Champion Sir Jack Brabham, announced that he would continue the family's legacy under the newly-formed Brabham Automotive name, and they've just released a teaser of their first creation.
Dubbed BT62, a continuation of the naming convention used by the Brabham Fomrula 1 team, the teaser shows the rear of a low-slung, race-inspired car. The Thin LED tail lights, gaping air vents and a large carbon fibre rear wing hint at the car’s intended purpose.
The Brabham BT62 is described by its makers as 'pure-bred for the track and capable of setting blistering lap times.' At this point it's unclear if the BT62 will be a road-legal vehicle.

BT62 will be powered by a Brabham-built, naturally-aspirated 5.4-litre V8 and have a power-to-weight ratio of 536kW per tonne and dry weight of 972kg.
The Brabham BT62 will feature a carbon fibre body with an 'aggressive aerodynamic package' capable of producing over 1200kg of downforce.
Brakes are carbon too – a Formula 1-derived technology that was first introduced by Brabham in 1976 – featuring six piston calipers front and rear.
Production of Brabham Automotive's first car will be limited to just seventy cars with a price tag of £1m (NZ$1.94m) before options. The price also includes a Brabham driver development programme which will help owners get to grips with their potent track toy.
“My father had an incredible determination to succeed and, like him, I have worked tirelessly to bring the iconic Brabham name back to the global stage," David Brabham.
"This new chapter of the Brabham story will continue in the same spirit, but with renewed direction, focus and vigour. This announcement makes me feel incredibly proud as we enter a new era for the legendary."
The BT62 order book is now open and first deliveries are expected later this year.
