The first prototypes of the Bugatti Chiron, successor to the iconic Veyron, have been spotted testing in Europe.
As previously reported by CarAdvice, the Chiron is expected to continue the use of a quad-turbocharged W16 engine, and is rumoured to feature electrically actuated turbochargers to help achieve a massive 1100kW of power – and a face-melting top speed of over 460km/h.
Noting the prototypes travelling with the hybrid BMW supercar leads us to also speculate whether the Bugatti Chiron will look to hybrid propulsion (like the McLaren P1, Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari La Ferrari) as a means of achieving these performance goals and to conform to stringent EU emission requirements.
