McLaren has announced its next 'ultimate track-concentrated' model - currently codenamed P15 - will be revealed before Christmas.
Confirmed at the Dubai International Motor Show, McLaren's forthcoming model will be revealed online on December 10, ahead of its first public outing at the Geneva International Motor Show in March next year.
The news was accompanied by a fresh teaser image to go along with the first image of three tail pipes released last month.
The P15 production car will be the latest addition to McLaren's Ultimate Series, positioned above their core Super Series cars like the 720S. Currently the Ultimate Series is comprised of only two models - the P1 and P1 GTR.
However, unlike the two earlier P1 models, early reports suggest that the P15 will forgo any hybrid technology and be powered solely by a turbocharged V8 based on the 4.0-litre unit in the 720S.
The P15 production car will also mark a shift in focus from McLaren. Every car the company has built in its short history has had design emphasis placed on daily drive-ability.
But P15 has been "designed as the most extreme road-legal McLaren ever," the company said in a statement, "With daily usability sacrificed to give the most intensive driver experience around a circuit."
It's expected McLaren will build 500 P15 road cars, all of which are said to be pre-sold or allocated to customers.
P15 is the third of 15 new models or derivatives due by the end of 2022 under the McLaren Track22 business plan.
It will be delivered ahead of a second future Ultimate Series model codenamed BP23, which aims to be the world’s first Hyper-GT.
