The current owner of the car added: “I doubt you will find another Metro like this in the world. I don’t even think that anyone has ever sat in the passenger seats.”
CarFest South takes place at 1979 Formula One World Champion Jody Scheckter’s Laverstock Park Farm in Hampshire, with the Metro joining nearly 100 cars due to be auctioned.
In addition, a host of charity lots will be offered, with 100 per cent of the hammer price plus fees donated to BBC Children in Need.
A similar auction was held at CarFest North at the weekend, although this was overshadowed by the death of stunt pilot Kevin Whyman, whose plane crashed while performing at the event.
