Citroen is proud to appoint Armstrong Motor Group as its newest dealers for both the Wellington and Christchurch markets. These fantastic showrooms are going to be well looked after by two of the best in the business, Richard Wharton (Wellington) & John McKenzie (Christchurch).
Armstrong Citroen Lower Hutt officially opened 1st March, based at 38-42 Railway Avenue. Sales and service representation is also offered by Armstrong in Wellington City area. From April 1st Citroen will be joining the line up at the Armstrong Christchurch dealership, based at 161 St Asaph Street.

With over 35 years’ experience in the automotive industry Richard Wharton has been involved in many aspects of the business, from working on vehicles himself as a mechanic at 15 years old, to ensuring customers were well looked after as an After Sales Manager. “I look forward to meeting all of the Citroen owners. Please join me for a fresh coffee and a chat at our Lower Hutt Dealership. My sales staff would love show off the new range of Citroen product.”
John McKenzie, General Manager for Armstrong Christchurch has been with Armstrong Motor Group for over 10 years and also boasts a wealth of customer service experience behind him. “I started out as an apprentice auto technician and worked through the ranks to Service Manager, After Sales Manager and then Group After Sales Manager.”
John knows how to look after customers and when you visit him and the team at Armstrong Citroen Christchurch, you can expect “Well-presented premises and staff who project positivity, professionalism and knowledge whilst being customer focussed.” Work is currently underway upgrading the existing dealership to represent both Citroen and DS products.
Chief executive for Armstrong Motor Group, Rick Armstrong sees great potential in the brand.
“We see huge potential in the Citroen marque with exciting new models coming through and am delighted with this new addition to our business,” Armstrong says. “On top of the incredible new DS vehicles we will also see the new C4 and Cactus models this year, so timing for us is excellent.
