Small in size, big on ideas. You'll be surprised by just how many innovative features are packed into the Picanto.
(2014) Kia Picanto EX (5dr 5 seat Hatch Back)
New Picanto introduced July 2011 with 3 variants, LX 5MT, LX 4AT & EX 4AT with what Kia claims is NZ's most economical petrol engine. 60mm longer than its predecessor though still occupying slightly less than 3.6 metres. Wheelbase is stretched 15mm, which translates into more pass space (36mm greater front leg room) & 27% more luggage space (200L).
Features signature 'tiger-nose' grille. Daytime running lamps on both models (LED on Picanto EX) & bluetooth handsfree (LX auto & EX auto). 2-spoke sport steering wheel. Kia's EcoDynamics technology in the entry-level 5MT ISG (Idle/Stop & Go) model, (1st car in its class to offer fuel-saving ISG technology, switches off the engine when idling & restarts as the clutch is depressed).
4AT LX & EX models use an improved 4-stage AT. New suspension system with front MacPherson struts & rear coupled torsion beam axle. Interior features A/C, remote central locking, power windows, power/heated door mirrors, trip computer, daytime running lights, in-cabin headlight adjustment & MP3 player.
The EX model moves up from 14in to 15in alloys, front fog lights, LED front & rear lights, leather steering wheel with audio controls (also standard on LX 4AT), more luxurious upholstery, height adjustable driver's seat (also standard on LX 4AT) & reverse warning sensors.
