Mazda sales in July delivered the company a year on year increase for an outstanding 26th consecutive month. The news got even better for Mazda when, for the second time this year, it placed second in passenger car sales.
With sales of 871 units Mazda achieved a market share of 8.4 per cent, resulting in 4th place overall and cemented its YTD position in 4th place.
Andrew Clearwater, Managing Director of Mazda New Zealand says to achieve 25 consecutive months of year on year sales increases is an outstanding achievement.
“It’s one all the Mazda team and our dealers throughout the country should be very proud of. It is their continuing dedication and enthusiasm that has helped to put us in the strong position we find ourselves today.
“To be number two in passenger sales for the second time this year is also another great result and further highlights the comprehensive range of vehicles we have, and that they appeal to a wide range of the New Zealand motoring public."
All Mazda models performed well, and not for the first time it was the Mazda CX-5 that lead the way with 240 units sold and remains the segment leader. The recently launched CX-3 was 2nd in the small SUV segment as was the Mazda6 in the mid-size car segment.
The year ahead will continue to be a busy one for Mazda including the eagerly anticipated launch of the iconic all-new MX-5 later in the year and model upgrade for the Mazda BT-50.
