Suzuki Tops Satisfaction Rating in Latest Canstar Blue Award
The all-new five-door Suzuki Vitara will break cover at the annual four day agricultural Fieldays event in the Waikato from June 10.
A specially imported example of the new generation Vitara is the star attraction on the Suzuki stand, and is likely to attract wide interest at the Mystery Creek event in Hamilton.
The Vitara receives its first New Zealand preview at Fieldays, three months in advance of its local on-sale date.
Because this early example is not identical to the New Zealand specification model, the show vehicle will appear with blacked-out windows. It will also feature an accessory kit and boast larger wheels and tyres.
The new Vitara will be available with standard two-wheel-drive or an optional Allgrip four-wheel-drive system that has particular appeal to the farming community.
Not only does the car emit remarkably low CO2 emissions for a four-wheel-drive vehicle it is also one of the most fuel efficient all-wheel-drive vehicles.
“We are delighted to preview the new Vitara at this year’s Fieldays,” said Tom Peck, Chief Executive Officer of Suzuki New Zealand. “It is the first of six new Suzuki models to be launched internationally over the next three years.”
Suzuki expects the latest Vitara, which is built in Hungary, to become its best selling passenger car in Europe. The model will make a big contribution in the brand’s sales target of 300,000 units in that highly competitive market by 2017, up from 200,000 European sales in 2013.
Initially new Vitara is to be exported to 70 global markets, but this will be extended to 100 countries within three years.
A smart body style, roomy interior, good fuel economy and high level of customisation are key reasons why the new Vitara is predicted to attract rising international demand.
Suzuki is also displaying from the range the smaller Jimny at Fieldays, a long-time favourite with farmers needing a nimble but competent off-road vehicle that is also at home on the highway. This loveable icon is celebrating 17 years in its current form, and remains unique in the small four-wheel-drive sector.
Jimny retains its timeless looks and versatility and is one of the few genuine off-road SUVs (Sport Utility Vehicles). Now fitted with electronic stability control (ESC), the narrow and wieldy workhorse is also highly fuel efficient and has legendary reliability.
The Jimny at Fieldays will be available with free accessory kit to the value of $1,500 fitted (incl GST), and will be joined by a Grand Vitara that benefits from an Adventure accessory package. Suzuki is also showing a range of other models including the new Celerio supermini five-door hatchback and the Swift Sport used for the Vodafone Warriors Hot Laps at the Pukekohe Park motor racing track
