New Zealand’s Hayden Paddon has moved up two positions during the second stage of WRC Rally Australia this morning as Hyundai Motorsport holds a 1-2 lead in the rally.
The road sweeping on the Coffs Coast gravel stages with drivers in the lower half of the top-10 running order setting the fastest times in the 16.75km Bakers Creek stage.
Hyundai’s Dani Sordo (Spain) has won both of the opening stages and leads the rally by 3.4secs from Paddon. Citroen’s Kris Meeke (GB) is third trailing Sordo by 5.4secs and Ford Fiesta driver Ott Tanak (Estonia) is fourth and 7.0secs back from the lead.
The leading Volkswagen driver is Norway’s Andreas Mikkelsen who is 8.2secs behind rally leader Sordo with Volkswagen’s Jari-Matti Latvala completing the top six at 10.1secs behind the lead.
