Sad news for female Leadfoot fans, McDreamy is out
American actor and race car driver Patrick Dempsey will not be competing at the 2016 Leadfoot Festival due to a scheduling conflict.
Leadfoot founders, Rod and Shelly Millen are said to be disappointed with the late turn of events, but are excited and confident with the lineup of talented drivers amassed for the 2016 event.
Dempsey had been slated to be driving a Porsche during the festival, due to his close ties with the German manufacturer.
The annual Festival, now in its fifth year, offers a unique weekend of Motorsport bringing together a mix of classic cars, vintage motorcycles and motorsport legends including four time Indy Car Champion Scott Dixon, American Rallycross Champion Tanner Foust and English Rally Champion, Alistair McRae, Pikes Peak Championship drivers Rhys Millen and Paul Dallenbach and 6 time National Motorcycle Road Racing Champion Mike Pero to the private grounds at Leadfoot Ranch.
The 150 acre, ocean-front estate in Hahei on the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula features a mile long driveway that winds through the property designed to be the perfect hill climb.
The 2016 Leadfoot Festival scheduled for Waitangi Weekend – 6 & 7 February sees the program continue to offer evening activities including an evening concert featuring The Warratahs on Saturday night complete with a food, wine and beer garden.
