He's back!
Four-time IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon is the latest big announcement to be confirmed for next year's Leadfoot Festival in Hahei.
The 36-year-old Kiwi has raced at Leadfoot before, of course, doing so last year in the eccentric 1906 Darracq Grand Prix machine — a car requiring the pilot to constantly prod and pull various different levers while on the run, capable of a bristling 160km/h.
For 2018, Dixon will be moving into something a little bit more ... current.
The Indy 500 winner will pilot Honda's latest pocket-sized rocketship; the Civic Type R. With 230kW, 400Nm of torque, and more aero pieces than Air New Zealand's fleet combined, expect Dixon to be a little bit closer to the pointy end of the field this time around.

Leadfoot's announcements are always an excitable prospect because you never know who they're going to rope in. In recent times we've seen leading American rallycross and drifting ace Tanner Foust, IndyCar star Al Unser Junior, and a whole swag of local icons from across the motorsport spectrum.
And that's before we even consider the cars; who are arguably the real stars of the Leadfoot show anyway.
We await the next wave of announcements while perched on the edge of our seats...
