Last weekend's drifting shootout at Manfeild Circuit Chris Amon was an important one. It came as the Link ECU D1NZ National Drifting Championship comes onto the home straight of its 2018 championship; ensuring that the title-contenders would be on their toes.
And with such events came a lot of drama, much of which struck those at the pointy end of the championship. Spins and contact claimed the likes of Aussie battler Matty Hill, while mechanical issues plagued 'Fanga Dan' Woolhouse. Crammed in there, too, was a spirited performance from local gun Jaron Olivecrona.
In the end it came down to a fierce bare-knuckle fight between a former champ — Darren Kelly — and Team DSR's Adam Davies.
Davies and his rotary-powered Nissan 180SX hadn't won a D1NZ event before, but all that was set to change via one of the most physical finals of the season. Keep tabs on Driven for full event highlights, but for now check out the weekend's biggest moments in the teaser above.
