Kia has released teaser sketches and a video of the latest Niro model.
While the SUV has be spied testing on multiple occasions over the past year, with the camouflage gradually being stripped away, the official unveiling is yet to take place.
But it won't be long to wait, as Kia has confirmed the debut will take place on the 25 November at the 2021 Seoul Mobility Show.
Kia’s latest design sketches demonstrate Kia’s “Opposites United” design philosophy and its incorporation in the vehicle. The car features quirky LED headlights that are mounted low on the front bumper and a thin horizontal grille above them which is highlighted by a chrome strip. The rear showcases thin, vertical taillights that follow the shape of the signature red-painted C-pillars, creating a dual-tone effect.
Inside the car, the Niro features a completely redesigned dashboard with a single panel integrating the digital instrument cluster and the infotainment touchscreen, similar to that inside the Sportage.
The second-generation Kia Niro is expected to be offered in both PHEV and EV form, which probably means it won’t be based on the latest electric-only E-GMP architecture. It'll quite likely have an updated version or it's predecessor with an increased range.
We'll learn more details when it debuts in a couple of days, but until then, check out the teaser video.
