Fast cars, rebellion, and cameos in the latest NFS trailer
Need For Speed go back to their roots for upcoming release
One of the most iconic franchises in gaming history, Need For Speed (NFS), is making a return to the small screen worldwide on November the fifth, with the release of their latest title — simply labelled 'Need For Speed'.
For the game, the series has gone back to their console-gaming roots, with the game featuring a prevalent focus on tuning culture. This is something that the NFS franchise helped pioneer in the early 2000's with their Need For Speed Underground and Need for Speed Underground II titles, which took car modification in games to new heights.
The latest trailer for the highly anticipated game sees internet sensation Ken Block, and his latest Gymkhana Ford Mustang make an appearance. Block is one of a list of tuning 'icons' who make appearances in the game. Also making this list are internationally-renowned Porsche supremos Magnus Walker and Akira Nakai San, plus American drifting crew Risky Devil, and Morohoshi-san of Japan — best known for his wild and extravagant customization of Lamborghinis and other exotic cars.
The latest trailer aims to capture and run with the rebellious side to car modification. It sets its mood to the tones of Coolio's Gangstas Paradise, and a selection of quotes from an excerpt from the ’60s film Wild Angels — a film about biker culture, a culture that some might suggest is similarly stigmatized.
