A number of patent images of what appears to be the new-generation 2016 Mitsubishi Challenger have surfaced online. The all-new Challenger - which is based upon the underpinnings of the popular Triton ute - is a different looking beast to its workhorse sibling, and includes the Japanese brand's new "dynamic shield" design language. That look will also be applied to Lancer, ASX and Mirage in the coming 12-18 months.
The SUV is expected to be offered with seven seats, and powering the vehicle will be the same 2.4-litre turbo diesel engine as is seen in the Triton, which produces 133kW of power and 430Nm of torque. Expect the new Challenger to be revealed in the coming months, and it could be on sale here by the end of this year or early in 2016.
