When a video of a camouflaged Dodge Charger Hellcat with a set of impressive looking fenders emerged earlier this week, the rumours of a widebody four door started to swirl.
No one knew if it was an official Dodge build or not, but everyone had their hopes up.
Those rumours were confirmed just a couple of days ago when Mark Trostle, the head of design at Dodge and SRT, posted a picture of the widebody beast on Twitter.
In that same post, Trostle confirmed that the car would be making its debut at Spring Fest 14, which is a car show that's dedicated to FCA brands.
“We are taking a Charger design concept to Spring Fest to gauge feedback from the huge Dodge Charger, Challenger, and Chrysler 300 enthusiast base that attends the California event each year," an FCA representative said.
Trostle made sure to mention that the car was only a concept and not a production car in his post. As there is already a widebody Challenger on the market, fans are hoping that it is only a matter of time before this one hits the production line.
If it is anything like its two-door counterpart, the widebody Charger will be ditching the 275/45 tires for some meaty 305/35's to fill those arches.
Though nothing has been said about engine specifications, we can only hope that a 797 hp Redeye version will release alongside the 485 hp R/T Scat Pack that everyone is expecting to see.
