The new Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 Spyder has made its official debut just hours before the start of the 2015 Frankfurt motor show.
In order to enable alfresco motoring there’s a electro-hydraulically operated soft top that raises or lowers itself in 17 seconds at speeds up to 50km/h, as well as pop-up rollover guards, removable wind guards and moveable fins that are visible when the top is down.
All up, the Spyder has a dry weight of 1542 kilograms, an increase of 120kg over the Huracan LP610-4 coupe.
Behind the driver and passenger there’s the same naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 as used in the regular Huracan LP610-4 coupe. The engine has a total of 449kW of power and 560Nm of torque against its name.
All that fury is channelled to the ground via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and an all-wheel drive system.
Lamborghini claims that the new Huracan LP610-4 Spdyer is capable of reeling off the 0-100km/h standard in 3.4 seconds, hitting 200km/h within 10.2 seconds and going on to a top speed of 324km/h.
Compared to its coupe sibling, the Spyder is 0.2 seconds slower to 100km/h and 0.3 seconds tardier to 200km/h. With cylinder shut off and automatic engine stop/start as standard, the Huracan Spyder has a fuel economy rating of 12.3L/100km — 0.2L/100km better than the coupe.
Stopping power is provided by standard carbon-cermic brakes, with 380mm discs up front. Among the other standard features are LED head- and tail-lights, 20-inch alloy wheels, a 12.3-inch high-resolution display in the instrument panel, and the Lamborghini Infotainment System II.
Options include magneto-rheological dampers and a road-speed sensitive adaptive ratio steering system.
The new Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 Spyder is available for order now with Australian pricing starting from $470,800 including GST and LCT, but excluding dealer and statutory charges.
