Will the rumoured Nissan Z NISMO make it to NZ?

Just recently, Nissan finally revealed the all-new Z in full, and to the Japanese brand's credit, it has done an incredible job of keeping it largely the same as the initial concept car.
Ever since the 350Z, Nissan Z car launches have been followed by the unveiling the NISMO variant, which has always been a more hardcore, track-focused version.
While it's yet to make its official debut, the 2022 Z NISMO is rumoured to be revealed in January next year, with it entering the international market shortly afterwards.
These rumours came from the fact that Japan's Best Car Web reported that Nissan was planning on showing a high-performance variant of the Z at the 2022 Tokyo Auto Salon.
In standard form, the Z features a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 engine that already makes a hefty 298kW and 475Nm. In standard form, it comes with a six-speed manual, but can be optioned with a nine-speed automatic.
Like previous-generation NISMO Z cars, we can imagine that both auto and manual cars will be produced. Power and torque will probably be slightly up on the standard car, but not significantly.
If NISMO history is anything to go by, we can see this rumoured high-performance Z sitting on stiffer suspension, getting a better brake system, and be a lighter car overall.
As these images are just renders, we'll have to wait and see what Nissan has in store for this NISMO variant, but it's likely that they won't be too far off the real thing.
Given that Nissan New Zealand exclusively sold the NISMO variant of the 370Z right up to when the car was discontinued, we're pretty confident that if one did come to fruition, New Zealand buyers would get a chance to buy one.
