Insignia on ice
Holden’s Insignia VXR had its Australasian launch on ice in Queenstown in August.
Attending the launch were our colleagues from CarAdvice.com.au who first tried the former Opel branded large sedan in Melbourne before heading to the Southern Hempishere Proving Ground out of Queenstown to test it on ice.
Since it went on sale, the all-wheel-drive Insignia VXR has proven popular with New Zealanders, according to the General Motors.
“Since Insignia VXR was launched we have already sold 20 of these special cars and most were sold in the Auckland region with many also sold round other parts of the country.
“These are clearly very special cars and interest is continuing to climb, possibly from people who realise that Insignia provide not just a spectacular AWD but it also contains some very advanced technologies for Holden.”
Priced at $69,990, Holden’s first AWD turbo sports sedan is paired with an Australian-built 2.8-litre V6 engine producing 239kW of power and 435Nm of torque.
