Our spy photographers have spotted the Lamborghini Huracan Superveloce out during a round of track testing. At the rear, the Superveloce (or SV for short) prototype features a cut out and temporary grille on the upper portion of the bumper, all of which only partially hides an extra pair of exhaust tips.
Below the new opening is, what seems to be, a reworked rear diffuser and four up-turned tailpipes. The only other notable visible changes to the car are racing and sponsors' stickers — a diversionary tactic used on past Volkswagen Group development cars.
The car snapped by our photographers may well be an early prototype vehicle as it is missing many piece of addenda that one would expect on an SV version.
The Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce, which was unveiled earlier this year, features a large rear wing and an even more overtly aggressive body kit than the regular car. This is in addition to a 6.5-litre V12 that's been bumped up from 515kW to 552kW of power.
Weight on the Aventador SV is pared back thanks to the dumping of niceties, such as the infotainment system, sound insulation and carpets, and the adoption of carbonfibre for even more components, including the seat frames and door panels.
In all likelihood, the Huracan SV will feature similar changes when it's finally revealed, namely a more powerful engine, reduced weight, removed luxuries and an even more focussed driving experience. Just don't expect it to be anywhere near as extreme as the rear-wheel drive Huracan GT3 race car.
