(2014) Peugeot 2008 ACTIVE SUV (5dr 5 seat Wagon)
Peugeot introduces its compact SUV 2008 crossover in November 2013, following hot on the heels of Holden’s Trax & ahead of the upcoming Ford Ecosport. Offered in two grades, an entry price of $31,990 for the base Active model 2008 & a higher specification Allure at $33,990. Both models are powered by a 1.6L 4cyl petrol engine teamed with a 4AT gearbox.
The engine produces 88kW of power & 160Nm of torque & uses 5.9L/100km. It weighs in at a surprisingly sprightly 1045kg. All versions of the 2008 are fitted as standard with a stability control package, braking assistance & electronic brake force distribution. The safety specification also adds six airbags, two front, two side, two curtain.
Over & above the norm, the the Active recieves Bluetooth, a 7in multifunction interactive touchscreen, cruise control & speed limiter, chrome roof rails, LED daytime running lights & heated side mirrors. The Allure adds automatic air conditioning with a cooled glove box, additional exterior chrome trim, a panoramic glass roof & rear park aid. Satellite navigation is a $750 option on the Allure.
