Most staggering is the car's open road performance with zero lag and blistering acceleration in from 1st till 6th gear. Indeed, this is one of the most beautifully designed and ever built Maserati, elegance and performance combined at its best.
This example was registered new into the ownership of the managing director of Maserati NZ, who drove it for two years clocking up approximately 28, 000 kms in the process. It was then sold to a collector who retained it for almost 12 years adding a mere 5000kms in mileage. Following these owner, the head of Ferrari servicing in NZ purchased it undertaking the replacement of all belts, rubbers and tyres while fettling and fine tuning every possible area including new door seals. By and large usage would have been confined to special occasions and fine days with minimal exposure to rain. Disciplines of this sort have resulted in the stunning Oriente Rosso paintwork retaining its almost showroom condition. Similarly, the Sabbia (beige) interior.
Truly would have to be one of the lowest mileage Maserati Ghibli GT 6 speed with electronic Konis examples available in the world today and is listed on the Italian Maserati Register. It provides an outstanding opportunity for any enthusiast to acquire a collectors' car in outstanding conditions for its age and mileage.
The cambelt has been replaced in January 2018 at around 54, 500 km so it has practically done very little mileage since replaced.
It has been regularly serviced since it was new. Our Master Tech has done pretty much every service for most of its life, the last service was performed at 55, 000 km by Winger Maserati in February 2019.

This particular Ghibli GT was built during the final production run of these handmade cars and is one of 133 right-hand drive examples, most of which had a 4 -speed automatic transmission. In 1995, only 51 Ghibli GTs were produced and only 30 in 1996. Cars with these specifications sold for GBP50, 000 in the UK and over NZ$150, 000.
The Ghibli was the last of some 27 iterations of the original Maserati Bi-Turbo, always a well prepared and extremely useable Grand Tourer as per Maserati extraordinary reputation of building magnificent GT's from the very beginning. These cars were built at the end of the De Tomaso era and prior to the mass production Maserati of the Fiat/Ferrari era which makes this example a very exclusive and desirable model and perhaps will be a highly-desire collector's automobile in a near future.
This body restyling was undertaken by Marcello Gandini, the designer of the Lamborghini Countach, who added in the high boot lid and spoiler below the windscreen.
