A photo has surfaced on the internet of, what’s claimed to be, a completely undisguised pre-production model of the upcoming Ferrari F12 update.

This photo was originally posted by Cavallino Rampante (Prancing Horse in Italian) on Facebook. It’s believed that the photo was taken at a car park at Ferrari’s headquarters in Maranello.

In terms of exterior design, the car seen here seems to confirm with screenshots that leaked out in late June of an exclusive online configurator for the new car.

Visually, the facelifted car is distinguished from current F12 Berlinetta by a more aggressive aero package, including a prominent front splitter and side sill extensions. There’s also a new contrasting styling band behind the front wheel arch.

The rear side window is abbreviated thanks to a dramatic up sweep, while three vents have been added to the top of the rear wheel arch. The rear fascia has been reworked with a black strip linking the afterburner-style tail-lights, and a new rear apron that features a more F1-style rear diffuser.

Earlier reports indicated that the updated model will be badged as the F12 GTO, although other sources claim that the car will be titled as either the F12 Speciale or F12M.

Under that long bonnet, the facelifted car will reportedly feature a revised version of the company’s 6.3-litre V12, with output raised from 545kW to around the 600kW mark.
