Motor shows are all about supercars, right? We think so.

With the hype of new launches settling down and our record number of CarAdvice journalists attending this year’s Frankfurt motor show all back home, we have come up with a list of the Top Five supercars from this year’s show.

5. Lamborghini Huracan Spyder

You can’t have a top supercars list without a Lamborghini in there, right? Luckily this is certainly one supercar worth talking about. It’s the latest drop-top supercar from the Italian manufacturer. With a roof that retracts in 17 seconds while on the move and a uniquely Lamborghini body shape, the car practically sells itself.

4. Ferrari 488 GTB Spider

Much like Lamborghini, it’s impossible to have a top supercar list without a Ferrari mention. The 488 GTB is the successor to the highly popular 458 Italia and is the company’s roofless road-going racer. It’s also the company’s proper turbocharged V8 sports car (sorry, California T). It looks incredibly stunning, especially in this colour.

3. Alfa Romeo Giulia QV

An Alfa Romeo supercar — no we’re not kidding. What you’re looking at here is a car that has eclipsed the Nurburgring time of a BMW M4 and comes with brakes bigger than a giant dinner plate. The turbocharged six-cylinder monster is Alfa Romeo’s ‘heart and soul’ resurgence (not that the 4C or 8C weren’t).

2. Ford GT

Sure, it wasn’t released at the Frankfurt Motor Show, but the Ford GT can’t not be mentioned. The iconic Ford supercar has been reborn into this modern, stunning and fast incarnation. It’s a sign that Ford is thinking forward and is looking beyond the global financial crisis that crippled most American manufacturers temporarily.

1. Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo

Ladies and gentlemen, nothing more needs to be said. CarAdvice was the first Australian media outlet to drive the originalBugatti Veyron and this latest Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo shows us the future direction of the brand and the way it plans to head for the Veyron replacement. The angles, lines and colours look utterly stunning, while the interior represents racing cred at its finest.
